2023 Torch of Liberty Award

ADL Southeast’s Torch of Liberty Award Celebration is presented annually to an individual or company who exemplify ADL’s values and have helped shape Atlanta for the better. This year, we are thrilled to honor CEO Ed Bastian and Delta Air Lines with the Torch of Liberty Award on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Delta Flight Museum. It will be a fabulous evening of celebration, with live music, a cocktail reception, and dinner. Co-chaired by Barry Berlin and Ilene Berman, this is one of ADL Southeast’s primary fundraising events to help fulfill our mission to Fight Hate for Good by exposing extremism, delivering anti-bias education, and fighting hate and antisemitism across the Southeast. Past notable honorees include the Atlanta Hawks and CEO Steve Koonin, Arthur Blank and ATL United, The Coca-Cola Company, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber.

Number of Americans Harboring Extensive Antisemitic Prejudice Doubled Since 2019

ADL’s Antisemitic Attitudes in America survey found that 20 percent of Americans believe six or more anti-Jewish tropes, nearly doubling the antisemitic prejudice found in 2019 and the highest level in three decades.

ADL Audit of Antisemitic Incidents 2021

Antisemitic incidents reported to ADL reached an all-time high of 2,717 in the United States last year – an average of more than seven incidents per day and a 34 percent increase year over year, including assaults, harassment and vandalism. This is the highest number on record since ADL began tracking antisemitic incidents in 1979.
